Active Matter Roadmap: What Is Confirmed So Far
Where the Active Matter roadmap stands: what the official FAQ promised at launch, what has shipped since September 15, and where it will appear.
If you search for an Active Matter roadmap you are looking for something the studio has promised but not yet published. The official FAQ says a detailed roadmap is coming, and it has not appeared as a page on the official site. What exists instead is a launch-month update log that shows the actual pace of change. This page sets out the promise, the verified status of it, and the shipped updates you can read as a de facto roadmap until the real one lands.
The promise, in the studio's own words
The official FAQ, last updated on 15 September 2026, answers the roadmap question directly under "How do you plan to develop the game after release?":
Release is not the end of development for us — it's only the beginning of a much longer journey we have planned for Active Matter. We're constantly working on new locations, weapons, monsters, game modes and events, and we plan to release several major content updates every year. A detailed roadmap outlining our plans for the future will be published within a couple of weeks after release. In the meantime, keep an eye on the official website and our social media channels for the latest news and updates.
Two commitments sit in that paragraph: several major content updates every year, and a published roadmap shortly after launch.
Status check: the roadmap page is not up
We checked the official site on 15 October 2026, one month after launch. The main navigation lists Home, News, Game, FAQ and Partnership, and a request to the obvious roadmap URL returns a 404 rather than a redirect. So the roadmap has not been published as a dedicated page, and the "within a couple of weeks" window from the 15 September FAQ has now passed without one.
That is not the same as no news. Everything the studio has shipped or announced has gone out through the official news feed instead, which is exactly the channel the FAQ points you at, and our patch notes page tracks that feed.

What has actually shipped since launch
The launch-month record is the most concrete answer available, and it comes from the studio's own Activity Report published on 09 October 2026: more than ten updates and hundreds of changes in the first month, delivered as rapid hotfixes in response to player feedback.
| Date | Update | Headline change |
|---|---|---|
| 22 September 2026 | 0.4.0.135 | Raid reconnection improvements and bug fixes |
| 23 September 2026 | 0.4.0.137 | Devourer information distribution restored |
| 24 September 2026 | The Fundamental Protocol | Map and content update |
| 26 September 2026 | 0.4.0.156 | Personal Timeline collapse protocols revised |
| 30 September 2026 | 0.4.0.163 / 0.4.0.165 | Safer extractions, feedback-driven tuning |
| 05 October 2026 | 0.4.0.173 | Extraction point cover on Headquarters, Airport and Downtown |
| 09 October 2026 | 0.4.0.182 | Guts and Ghost Body Sleeves reworked, console mouse and keyboard support, voice chat quality |
If you want the detail behind any of those rows, the patch notes page breaks the updates down, and the Body Sleeves page covers the most consequential balance change in the 09 October build.
How to read this while you wait
The practical stance is that the game is in a fast-hotfix phase rather than a roadmap phase. Content is arriving, but it is arriving as fixes and tuning on top of the launch build rather than as the "several major content updates every year" the FAQ describes — the first major update has not been dated in any official post we can find. So a search for the roadmap is best answered by watching the news feed rather than by reading a plan.
If you are deciding whether to start now or wait, that distinction matters: the release date page covers what the launch build contains, the player count page tracks activity, and the guide covers the first hours regardless of which patch you land on.

Where to go next
For the shipping record rather than the plan, patch notes is the page to follow. For what the launch build already includes, start with release date and price and editions, and if you are weighing the platforms before committing, crossplay covers how the matchmaking pools connect.
