Active Matter is on Xbox, but only on Xbox Series X|S — there is no Xbox One version, and the store listing marks the game as Optimized for Xbox Series X|S. It released on September 15, 2026, the same day as PC and PlayStation 5, and Xbox pricing starts at $29.99 for the Standard Edition. As of September 21, 2026 the current build is 0.4.0.122, and there is no official announcement that the game is part of Game Pass, so anyone whose plan depends on a subscription should not assume one.

Release dateSeptember 15, 2026, the same day as PC and PS5
PlatformsXbox Series X|S and PC — no Xbox One build
Standard Edition price$29.99, with Advanced and Deluxe as higher tiers
Publisher / developerGaijin Distribution Kft, with the studio listed as Team Matter
CrossplayXbox cross-platform multiplayer and cross-platform co-op
Progress sharingNo cross-progression with PC or PS5
Game PassNo official announcement that the game is included

The developer line on the Xbox listing reads Team Matter while Gaijin's PC-facing sources use Matter Team; that is a spelling difference in the listings rather than two studios. Everything else in the table is stated on the Xbox store page itself or in Gaijin's published material. Where a line comes only from the Xbox page, the text below says so.

Xbox One is not supported

The Xbox listing keeps its device list short: Xbox Series X|S and PC. There is no Xbox One entry, and the only platform badge on the page is the Optimized for Xbox Series X|S mark, so an Xbox One owner cannot install or play the game by any route the store offers. If you are deciding between hardware generations, this is the one platform question worth checking before buying anything else about the game.

Every line in that table is taken from the Xbox listing's own capability list (single source), which is why it is presented as what the store advertises rather than as a measured benchmark. Xbox cloud saves are a platform convenience for your Xbox profile, and Xbox Play Anywhere is a store badge — neither one is the same thing as carrying progress between platforms, which the game does not do. The player counts are also the store's figures rather than a guarantee of how full a given lobby will be.

Game Pass: what is and is not confirmed

There is no official announcement that Active Matter is included in Game Pass, and the Xbox listing sells it rather than offering it as a subscriber benefit. The one Game Pass-related line on the page is a requirement rather than a perk: online multiplayer on console requires an Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate subscription, sold separately (single source). That is a subscription note, not a statement that the game sits in the catalogue, and we are not going to read it as one. If Gaijin ever does bring it to Game Pass, it would appear on the store page first, and this page would be revised.

Crossplay and progress on Xbox

Crossplay is supported, so Xbox players can be matched with PC and PlayStation players, and console players choose how wide that pool is: their platform only, consoles only, or any platform. Progress works the other way round, because official sources say shared progress is available only between the Steam and Gaijin.Net versions on PC — an Xbox operative is separate from a PC or PS5 character. The crossplay page explains the matchmaking ranges, and connect with Steam covers the PC account rules.

Editions on Xbox

The Xbox store sells the Standard Edition at $29.99 with Advanced and Deluxe as higher tiers, and Gaijin's own wording about the tiers is the useful part: they differ in the starting selection of weapons, equipment and in-game resources, and otherwise the content available to buyers is identical. Upgrades between tiers are offered, so buying Standard first does not close off a higher tier later. The price page has the edition-by-edition breakdown.

FAQ

Is Active Matter on Xbox One?
No. The Xbox listing is marked Optimized for Xbox Series X|S and names only Xbox Series X|S and PC as the devices you can play it on, so there is no Xbox One version. You need a Series X or Series S to play on Xbox.
Is Active Matter on Game Pass?
There is no official announcement that the game is included in Game Pass, and as of September 21, 2026 the Xbox listing sells it from $29.99. The listing does carry a line that online multiplayer on console requires an Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate subscription sold separately (single source) — that is a subscription requirement, not a catalogue announcement.
How much does Active Matter cost on Xbox?
The Xbox listing starts at $29.99 for the Standard Edition, with Advanced and Deluxe available as higher tiers. Official sources describe the difference between editions as the starting selection of weapons, equipment and in-game resources, with the content itself identical — see price and editions.
Does Active Matter on Xbox support crossplay?
Yes. The Xbox listing advertises Xbox cross-platform multiplayer and Xbox cross-platform co-op, and Gaijin says console players choose their matchmaking range: this platform only, consoles only, or any platform. See crossplay for how that works.
Does the Xbox version run at 4K and 60 fps?
The Xbox listing advertises 4K Ultra HD, HDR10 and 60 fps+ as capabilities (single source). Gaijin has not published a separate Xbox performance breakdown in the sources we captured, so treat those as store-listing claims rather than measured numbers.
